I will be unable to offer shipping to the EU and countries where GPSR is in effect. If you are from the EU, Northen Ireland, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein and have backed this project, I am sorry to have to ask you to please cancel your pledge. If anyone from these regions doesn't cancel and is charged at campaign end, I will issue a full refund.

My sincere apologies to everyone affected by this. I did not fully understand the new GPSR requirements going into this, and thought the regulations were simpler than they actually are.

I will be unable to offer shipping to the UK for this campaign, but should be able to offer UK shipping via Etsy after the campaign concludes and the isopod goodies have been produced. My apologies: I was under the false impression that since Backerkit was able to collect VAT, it would be able to remit that payment to the UK government on my behalf. This is not the case. If you are from the UK, I am sorry to have to ask you to please cancel your pledge. If anyone from the UK isn't able to cancel and is charged at campaign end, I will issue a full refund.

If you would like to be notified when the Etsy listings are available, please follow my backerkit creator page or this campaign and you should receive project updates. When the extra items are made available through Etsy, I will honor the backerkit campaign prices and ability to select individual star-candy isopod pins for UK residents by creating a custom Etsy listing for anyone who requests it in the first two months of Etsy availability.

Thank you so much for your support of Isopod Colony. This has been my first backerkit campaign and I’m learning so much from this experience. In the future, there are avenues to explore to offer UK shipping with VAT and GPSR compliance; I will be putting in inquiries with professionals who fully understand how to navigate these laws. There’s been several questions about shipping rates and if it’s possible to provide estimates. I was able to get those estimates together this weekend. I have updated the campaign main page to have these estimates as their own subsection.

The following are the estimated shipping rates for Isopod Colony, and include estimates for tracking and insurance. Please note that these rate are estimates only. The final rates will be calculated in the pledge manager post-campaign based on weight, country of destination, and rates at the time the pledge manager goes out.

Star Rider Artwork Update:
As mentioned in the previous update, the star rider pin has had its art adjusted. The head now flows at a better angle into the body, and the markings are more accurate to the Gestroi and Ember Bee species. I hope everyone enjoys the updated artwork, which will be what is used to produce the pins. You can see the changes below:

Future Stretch Goals:
I am working on getting quotes from manufacturers for additional stretch goals and getting the designs for them finalized. Several of these will retroactively unlock at the point at which they would have been successfully funded, but I need the quotes to know where to set those goals so that I do not overcommit. Right now I’m getting designs and quotes on potential embroidered patches, memo pads, and mini pins. Thank you for your patience. I should have some updates on these over the weekend!

As I mentioned in the last update, if you have specific species or morphs you’re enthused about, please don’t hesitate to share. While I might not be able to do all of them (some are very similar to one another) I would like to get some of the species we missed out on alongside some of the favorites!

I’m excited that we’ll be able to produce all of the planned pins and blind bags, and are even going to be able to make some additional isopod goodies!

Project Success:
Isopod Colony has been fully funded, and stretch goals for additional blind bag designs have been unlocked! I am humbled and thrilled that we were able to fully fund all of the planned pins - and on the first day, no less! Thank you all so much for helping to make this project happen! I am so excited to bring these pins to you!


Stretch Goals Unlocked:
The stretch goal designs for Ember Bee, Gestroi, Cuban Spikey, and Lucky Star have all been unlocked. I have added them to the reward options in the project. These designs are available for individual purchase, as well as being added to the blind bag contents. The blind bags are now complete with 10 potential designs.

Ember Bee and Gestroi Revisions:
Upon further review, the artwork for the Ember Bee and Gestroi stretch goals are going to undergo some minor revisions. I want to adjust the perspective on the heads to flow a bit more into the body, so it looks less like a disconnected segment doing its own thing. I will also be cleaning up the spot color markings to hopefully match their inspiration species a bit closer.

I've added "art revision pending" notices to these newly unlocked designs so that backers are aware that they will change slightly. The pose and star position will remain the same, I just want to fix those heads and have the markings be a bit more true-to-life while still being simplified for an enamel pin.


Additional Stretch Goals?
With the original stretch goals having been met, there have already been questions if more designs could be added as additional stretch goals. I am open to designing an additional stand-alone pin, mini pins, or an embroidered patch.

Please let me know if you have any favorite species you'd like to see, and be on the lookout for a future poll to decide if we will do mini pins (isopod army!) or a pin with translucent effects next.

Here it is! Isopod Colony is a collection of hard enamel pins and jewelry featuring some of my favorite little creatures. If you like enamel pins or are an isopod enthusiast, I hope my project might interest you.
